Banksia Men

Sydney, New South Wales

The banksia, with its spiky cone and gnarly branches, has been the villain of Australian children's stories for over a century, and up close it's easy to see why. Banksia Men gets intimate with one of Australia's most distinctive native flowers, its pale yellow-green florets packed in extraordinary detail among silver-grey leaves, the bush softly blurred behind. Eerie, beautiful, and deeply, unmistakably Australian.
